It is easy to love data when data is easy to add to your ORCID record — we have over 5,400 systems connected to the ORCID Registry, many of which can add data to your record for you. 😍

@ORCID_Org fields such as publications and employment history are great, but the way I really ❤️ to use ORCID is to use 'professional activities' to
1. show my membership of groups such as @resdatall (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7702-4495) and to
2. push attribution to our lovely #FAIRsharingCommunityChampions (https://fairsharing.org/community_champions/our_champions) such as @lnanderscience (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8741-7823).

I use my ORCID record as the “base truth” for the fancy publication list on my website:

It's augmented with stuff like thumbnails and file downloads, but the main data source is my ORCID record. 🙂 When I've published something new, I log into ORCID and add it there myself, then update my website. I'm usually faster than the publishing houses!

This International Love Data Week, we are happy to share the new Research Data Framework (RDaF) version 2.0 released by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which includes ORCID in two stages of their Research Lifecycle.
