@mookie I liked #Sinners too & would give it an 8 out of 10

IMO, it should have won the #Oscar for Best Picture over #OneBattleAfterAnother.

What I most like about the movie is its nod to the #MississippiChinese who acted as a commercial intermediary between the Black & White communities. There are books & documentaries that have been written & made specifically on this topic & it's rare for a mainstream movie to even acknowledge it.

I didn't expect to like One Battle After Another (HBOmax) as much as I did. It was funnier than I expected (DiCaprio and his may-I-speak-to-the-manager phone call 😆) and Sean Penn was completely unhinged. Now the final sketch from the Oscars makes sense 🔥

Saw #onebattleafteranother. Self indulgent self righteous simplistic mess congealed by four over privileged stars riffing cringey stoner ‘humour’ on Pynchon pretension for spurious intellectual validation and only winning #Oscars because everything else is even worse.

Hab gestern #OneBattleAfterAnother gesehen. War gut. Ok. Muss man nicht mehrmals sehen.
Mir ist die Motivation eines Charakters nicht klar geworden, und der hat eine wesentliche Wendung verursacht. 🤷‍♂️ Und zum Ende hin hatten einige Charaktere ein zu gutes Gespür, fand ich unrealistisch.
