"Coming Winter"

I am a bit late to the party with this as winter has already come and partly passed. I took this one last autumn at my grandparents place..or rather, only my grandfather is left. The man is old but still looks the same as in the last 30 years of memory, and the place hasn't changed much either. I readily confess that this picture isn't all that picture to anyone but me. I live far away from my grandparents place now, I don't know how often I will visit, maybe the day I took this picture was the last time because this coming Winter was his last. Maybe there are 10 more years in it. I don't know. Thinking about that makes me sad, and that is the emotion carried by this badly stacked pile of firewood. The fear of a coming loss and the words that hasn't been said.

Letzer Versuch Nifty Fifty: ttArtisan 25mm f2 MFT.

"Frost"

It wasnt actually that cold that day. For some already unknown reason I went out and about somewhat early in the morning and was waiting for the next tram to come, the light shone through the actual frosted glass and it felt like it was this blue. In reality I once again used post-processing to superimpose feelings in an otherwise more plain image. I define photography as that for myself, capturing the moment and then adding feelings to it without altering the actual pixel-array. Technical speaking. Its a fine rope dance to be honest. All that computational photographing stuff that goes on in phones and modern cameras makes it hard to draw the line, especially when you begin to use neural networks to remove stuff in the picture.

"The Booth"

This was on the way to a artisan market, obviously not in use anymore but I liked the blue motorcycle and the yellow booth in contrast.

Unlike my usual self I tried to use #darktable again after I watched half of a tutorial and not the easier but more limited RawTherapee. While trying to achieve something I wanted to recreate the mood and feeling when I first saw the booth, following the credo: jpeg is for reality, RAW for feelings. I think its a bit over corrected but only so slightly and less than that didn't seem right.

"Duck"

'I send you all my love in the form of a duck' or something like this. I wont pretend that this is high art, but I got a growing folder of random bird pictures, especially water fowl. I fault a friend of mine who loves ducks and other aquatic birds. I am still waiting to get a good picture with the 75-300mm lens I got laying around, but the same as with this 14-140, the optical quality isn't all that great at the far end. So its probably not before summer something interesting runs in front of my shutter.

Till then, I threw random settings left and right at this picture to make it a bit more appealing. It got taken in Vienna, right around noon, so the light is quite harsh.

Really stretching the limits of my 12-100. I was only able to get one usable shot before they flew off. I need a longer lens.
