On the longest day of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere), I visited Hexham, Northumberland in NE England.
I was last here in 2024 and wanted to take a photograph from this spot with this covered alleyway that leads from the town's Market Place into St Mary's Chare. Unfortunately, there was some building work taking place with scaffolding spoiling the view. I made a mental note that on my next visit I would try again.
Better luck this time around and particularly pleased with the view from the alleyway and the way it frames the view.
The spot where I was standing to take this photograph was the site of Hexham’s original St Mary’s Church, a medieval structure built in the 13th century on the site of a Saxon predecessor.
