#WhatWereReading : Joe very much enjoyed revisiting The Odyssey, translated superbly by Emily WIlson, ahead of the upcoming Christopher Nolan film, & is now happily lost in her absolutely fascinating insights into translation, Crossing the Wine Dark Sea from Profile Books.

The subject ranges across millennia, from Romans translating Greek literature to modern works like Hang Kang's novels, or the way Classics and translations are often culturally loaded and come with intentional or unintentional agendas.

Following up on my Light gun story from yesterday, I also have the VERY FIRST LIGHT GUN EVER here- it has a spring-loaded reaction when you pull the trigger, and it was designed for the Magnavox Odyssey (the first ever home game console) by none other than Nintendo themselves!
It's fun to think Nintendo has been in the video game space since the very beginning, and that light guns have been too!
