Today, Thursday 29 May, marks the anniversary of the #Heysel disaster. It is exactly 40 years ago that 39 people died and 600 others were injured in the crowd at the Heysel Stadium at the European Cup final between #Liverpool and #Juventus. Composer Michael #Nyman wrote #Memorial to commemorate the victims. The piece premiered on 15 June 1985 and was performed live only once.
