@tgpo interesting yet prolly useless thing that happened to me 20 years ago. Back then I was an engineer for a biomedicine firm in Ventura CA. One day an intern came in and snarfed my mp3 player when I wasn't looking....but it took them less than 2 minutes to appear at my desk asking wtf was wrong with the mp3 player, the music sounded weird!
I had left Sand in the Vaseline in my drive...

@socketwench I first went to Def Con in '96. I didn't go back until 23 years later! Now I go every year.

It's a community, and you don't have to be there in person but it's better in person. It's also really large, and you can make great connections with your peers at regional conferences like #BSides without breaking your budget.

Even if you aren't there this year, don't worry, it was canceled. 😉
