So I'm writing a novel that takes place 200 years in the future of a planet Earth that is no longer exactly planet Earth, it's morphed into something else. And as nonbinary as I am, for me the only thing that makes sense in this reality is that either there would be even more pronouns, or less. Full disclosure: I haven't had access to and therefore haven't read any queer sci-fi, so I don't know how this is usually handled, but writing just "she/he" and even "they" feels primitive.

The closest I've gotten to feeling like I'm doing something that makes sense is using mostly neopronouns depending on the culture, but I don't know if that would make it confusing for readers. I would love to know what the current conversation around this is.
