While installing 4 new servers in one of the racks, Jim looks at his finger and sees blood: Huh, wonder where that came from.

Washed my hands, put a Band Aid on, and went back to racking the new servers.

It's not the first time one of my servers demanded a blood sacrifice and won't be the last. In fact, I see a 2nd finger has been cut as well, but that did not really bleed so it doesn't count as a blood sacrifice.

Premises security (card access, cameras, &c) seems to be a discipline that doesn’t look far beyond the physical. Once again, I have a “Security Specialist” asking to forward ports from the Internet (without restrictions) to devices that have access to the production network. #HowAboutNo #NotTheFirstTime #NotTheLastTime #InfoSec #Security
