Does anyone on my TL subscribe to #HistoryHit podcast network? (The Dan Snow network?)

Wondering if the bonuses add enough to subscribe vs listen w/ads.

I *love* many of the shows...especially #GoneMedieval and #NotJustTheTudors but listen in passing to the others.

Also, if anyone is on threads, please let @[email protected] know to share her threads on mastodon... thx!

Yesterday I was listening to the podcast #NotJustTheTudors. There were two historians debating the possible survival of the #PrincesInTheTower. I was so disappointed with how unconvincing the one challenging the accepted history was. I could refute most of his arguments without any expertise.

E.g. he felt it was convincing how elaborate the accounts of these supposed princes were. Yeah, when people lie they tend to invent a lot of details.

Listening to an episode of #NotJustTheTudors #podcast on #BlackTudors and a lightbulb appeared over my head when they mentioned that parish registers became much more thorough after the Reformation. Over course. They were doing a Stazi to sniff out the Catholics and other undiserables.

I do love #NotJustTheTudors. Unlike certain other #history themed podcasts it does not interview cranks. Suzannah Lipscomb asks great questions, knows when to talk and when to listen.

I don't really get the episodes where she is walking around an art gallery talking with people about paintings I can't see. I am not even an art history enthusiast. The weirdest thing is that I listen to and enjoy those episodes.
