I'm revisiting a childhood favorite: an Arctic adventure book, and it's bringing up many emotions, as adult me has actually been in a ship encased (on purpose) within an ice floe.

As a child, I recall trying to locate in a map the places mentioned in the book, and -only having access to a toy Earth globe- trying to figure out how this "circumpolar periple" actually worked. I've now been to many of those places, and it's making my childhood feel very far in time.
