Yes, but when #EricTheRed was telling the #Norwegians and the #Icelandic people about #Greenland, he was in some ways partially right. The climate was warmer then and larger areas of land beside the sea where arable and suitable for livestock and some agriculture.
#Britain was warmer too with some wine produced in #Devon and #Cornwall, (as it still is to a very very limited extent)
Consequently, the climate got colder again, people started to starve and they were finally wiped out by the #Inuit. They did finally return though, but I’m not sure of the dates.
