Norway and the UK both found North Sea oil in the late 1960s.
Norway created a sovereign fund. It is now worth £1.6 trillion -- roughly £270,000 per citizen.
The UK spent the receipts. There is no fund. There never was.
Meanwhile, diesel hit 185p a litre in Castletown on Sunday.

Who is going to be the one to tell #Badenoch that UK North Sea oil production peaked in 1999, over a quarter of a century ago?

Or that the UK doesn’t even use much of what it produces, it exports most of it. So more licenses to drill will do nothing to the fuel bills of British people.

We currently get most of the crude oil the UK uses from the USA, Norway and Kemi’s childhood home of Nigeria.
