Hopefully this NorabouNa (a Brassica plant) will produce a lot of seeds all by it's lonesome. Unlike other brassicas like the Diakon Radish and Rapeseed (NanoHana) it doesn't cross with other plants. With those other plants together in the garden you end up with nice edible leaves but you're not sure what they are with big roots and a variety or characteristics from all the Brassica you let go to seed... So with this NoraBouNa plant you don't worry about getting infected by the "living pollution" of GE GMO rapeseed oil plants..

#Brassica #norabouna reaching for the #sky. It's fascnating to see how the #mustards (?) #brassica can get so tall if you let them. Most people break off the #colecrop stems early, I guess that lets you eat more before they #bolt ? flower and seed. But we get plenty of vegetables so I just want this hole area seeded naturally, see if all the vacant plots and in-between spaces can flower up yellow next year. Maybe we can figure out how to make toilet paper out of it by the next pandemic. #のらぼうな #ノラボウナ

#norabouna a tough #brassica that helped some people through an Edo famine, I think. People always fed themselves pretty well in Miyazaki, but with this global economy and improved transportation everyone is more vulnerable to becoming like Ando Shoeki's Fukushima, Northeast Japan...
