My favourite time of day is the first rays of sun on a damp or foggy morning. This time I was already running late and missed the rise of the sun. I knew there had to be something in this area that could make a great photo. Then I saw the light hitting the forest at the other side of the lake. The high humidity at the other side of the lake makes this photo really my catch of that day.

My local forest is known for its foggy moments. One time I went there and I saw the light falling on this spot while the fog was going in and out. So I waited for the right moment and pressed the shutterbutton. The result was magic.

A well-known spot nearby. I photographed this tree already many times, but never like this. The sun was warm and the atmosphere was extremely cold. At least, so I heard during the weather forecast. For me it just was a fantastic afternoon to take this beauty of a picture.

Most of the times I photograph just landscapes. In this particular scene I saw these cows grazing. The light was magical, so I took this picture; it's already one of my favourites.

Finally the first of the shrubs are opening their buds and carefully showing the first leaves. The trees, however, are still in a winter mood and not showing yellows, greens or reds. They are showing off their great narlene branches. Against the backdrop of slightly lighter trees, it works great to see only the main character in this picture.

The winter is coming to an end. And the spring is banging on the door. But still it isn't showing its true potential for the viewer. So I had to do it with this serene scene and the colour of the grass. Can't wait to see all this sprouting again.

Sometimes there's not much interesting to photograph. But by still going out, you can find some new compositions to remember to come back for. For me, this is that kind of shot. For now it's not really interesting, but it could be in the right circumstances.

In the north of the Netherlands we consistently got a cold stream of cold and clouds coming from the cold east. We barely saw the sun in January. And now the snow has already melted away, taking pictures during a cloud-covered sky is really hard. So all the light I can get, and put this in the picture. It was really, really hard to get this picture to work. Do you agree?

At some moments I got lucky. Moments like this are extremely rare in the Netherlands. But when the circumstances are right and you're at the right moment on the spot, you can find these unique sceneries Often the sun will melt the rime within an hour or so. Therefore, I took this image just after sunrise. Cold outside, but warm on the inside with this picture. :)
