Note that "strand" is for long, thin objects like strands of hair or strands of spaghetti. You should use "piece" for #pasta such as gnocchi and ravioli!
"Water" is a normally non-count noun: I drank some water. How about pasta and other noodles?
"Pasta" is a non-count noun and "noodles" is a count noun. Types of pasta and noodles are non-count. Check out the graphic for more!
