Marco Rubio's hunt for "#AntiChristian bias" is creeping #theocracy
In a new war on federal workers, State Department employees are told to snitch on people with #Pride flags

Excerpt: "Unsurprisingly, a deeper read of the cable shows that 'anti-Christian bias' is the cover story propped up to justify Rubio's actual assault on freedom of religion at State. He's giving Christian nationalists at the agency a tool to harass and even Rpurge people who don't share their #FarRight beliefs. The definitions of 'anti-Christian bias' throughout add up to outrage that conservative Christians are expected to treat people who believe differently with fairness and decency.
"For instance, the memo asks for reports of 'mistreatment for opposing displays of flags, banners or other paraphernalia,' specifically during Joe Biden's administration. It doesn't take a doctorate in bureaucratese to interpret this. Rubio is seeking stories where conservative Christians were told to mind their own business after objecting to a colleague putting up a #PrideFlag, a #BlackLivesMatter sign or perhaps a religious knickknack from a #NonChristian faith. This might be more comprehensible if, say, any Christians had being told they couldn't wear a cross or have a picture of Jesus on their desk. Instead, what Rubio is suggesting is that Christians have [the right to] prevent other people from having the freedom to express views and positions they dislike — and that it amounts to 'bias' if they can't control what others do or say. "

This is happening because #Christians are afraid they are losing #culturalDominance and they want to either #evangelize to #nonChristian #students or drill it into their heads that they are second-class citizens in this country, thereby making it easier for those like #DeSantis to force their #religion on them in other ways.

If you hadn't seen it, Lady Siin had brought up the topic of words and labels and selfidentification that in my opinion should be discussed more often, but have a look for your self:

And dont forget my fellow carbon-lifeforms, sharing is caring. That is the way.
@iraantlers@mastodon.online @N3m0@social.bau-ha.us @morpheusravenna Yes, of course! This is an interesting discussion I'd love to see had. There's potentially an interesting thing to be clarified here, that I don't know if I can clarify, which is "what are you considering to be *pagan* tattooing? What cultures and schools are included in that and which are excluded? I think partially my interest in this clarification comes from my relative ignorance of what the general "pagan" population considers to be the boundaries between "paganism" and animistic indigenous religions (or maybe this distinction is just not drawn, because there's the argument that all of these groups were assimilated into (or the attempt was made) Christianity, Islam, or Judaism where these were the dominant religions (but mostly Christianity, especially here in the "Western" world). For example, would this discussion be primarily based on northern/western European pre-Christian tattooing cultures? Celts, Nordic cultures, and so on? Would it include Yupiit tattooing cultures, or would that not be considered "pagan" but "indigenous"? How people self-identify is a totally different question, my family has our own opinions on this, but how the general community draws this distinction is what I'm getting at I suppose. So that's all very long winded. I guess to come up with some hashtag ideas and answer the original question, I think #pagantattooing #pagantattoohistory #ancienttattoo #pagantattoorevival could all be some interesting ones, depending on the lean of the discussion.
