New OpenRefine Geocoding Extension https://gitlab.com/geometalab/openrefine-geocoding-extension by TihanMo.
The Extension geocodes unformatted addresses to coordinates (Latitude/Longitude) and provides confidence scores using #photon #nominatim and #swisstopo APIs.
Ja, ich habe das schon mal gemacht, und es war problemlos möglich.
Im Hintergrund schien eine Abfrage zu laufen, die die Geo-Koordinaten zur Adresse ermittelt. OpenStreetMap nutzt dafür #Nominatim, und deren Server sind manchmal überlastet.
tl;dr: Versuch's später nochmal!
#TodayILearned that you can use #OpenStreetMap and #Nominatim [accept-language](https://nominatim.org/release-docs/latest/api/Search/#language-of-results) to learn languages—at least when it comes to geographic names!
For example:
* [nominatim.openstreetmap.org/...&accept-language=es](https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/search?q=Schwarzwald&format=geojson&accept-language=es) gives the Spanish name.
* [nominatim.openstreetmap.org/...&accept-language=ko](https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/search?q=Schwarzwald&format=geojson&accept-language=ko) gives the Korean name.
The images show a more user-friendly way using #MapLibre and MapLibre GL Geocoder.
Searching for 小学校 should yield a couple of full word matches, e.g. this. Instead it seems to prefer random partial matches. Oddly enough, there is a word entry for "小学校" which transliterates to "xi...
