@nwcs and I'm running into low battery quite often because I'm using #xmonad and haven't set up proper battery notifications with it yet... also by accident had been plugging in a 5V #USBC cable instead of the 20V one in the #Nobreakspace a few times...
Yesterday forgot to plug in the laptop AC or to close the lid for standby before going to sleep. 😅

One point that was raised in the #Nobreakspace recently: If we have devices capable of constant voice recognition, LLMs and a disregard for intellectual property could that mean when you say you had an idea and someone says "someone should patent that" that this could get "AI washed" and result in these big tech companies automatically filing a patent before you?

.o(Could we create some honeypots for that? And prove if/that they stole patent ideas?)

New song: die ärzte - Ist das noch [a statically generated website]

... if you let the Git CI regenerate it every 10 minutes?

(in reference to the song "Ist das noch Punkrock?" by Die Ärzte - trans. "Is that still punk rock?" and some infrastructure at the #Nobreakspace)

Another small oddity I notice playing with #LinuxMint 22.3 on its fresh M.2 SSD is the no-break space. I used to have that configured in Keyboard to be "Non-breaking space at the 3rd level," which for me meant hitting CapsLock+Space produced a hard space. That doesn't work now. Nor does trying other possibilities like 2nd level (Shift+Space).

However, since I use Espanso (a text expander), I can fix that indirectly by defining a third-level key in the Typo file to produce a unique character (I let Caps+a be ␠) and having ever-watchful Espanso quickly turn that into a real hard space.

(Note that defining the #NoBreakSpace directly in the Typo file by UTF-16 Encoding has never worked, though it does for other characters. Systems are weird, and one must work around them.)

Hrmpf, so there is a #PIM #multicast peering between @ffhl an the #Nobreakspace (and transitivlely to two more dn42 people) now. But the more you look the more things look broken...
An initial #PIM #multicast peering was added to the #Nobreakspace / @chaotikumev on #dn42. The #BGP multicast channel approach works great. And receiving an audio stream from three hops away on an ethernet port in the hackspace worked like charm. Only receiving it on the hackspace WiFi with default #OpenWrt settings was really choppy. It's not yet as optimized for that as it is on our #Freifunk Wifi at @ffhl ;-).
@txt_file @EUCommission I might be a bit biased when I read monorail though, got this Lego one for Christmas as a child. When I unboxed that I was sooo excited. And had so much fun with it :D.

(Hm, I'm wondering if such tracks could be 3D printed. If so there might be a real risk that I might equip our whole #Nobreakspace with rail service between desks and rooms :D.)

@vibechen eigentlich schon.
