In our City Council district we can nominate to put our verge on the Do Not Spray register thus avoiding glyphosate and worse. However a very persistent group of weeds has grown in the crack between the road and the kerb, and resisted all previous efforts at suppression. Yesterday we bought a cheap electric whipper snipper skin to go on our rechargeable battery.
