One of the great things about the pay as you go model on AWS is that it works for any size business. You only pay for what you use. As a small business I much prefer the pay as you go model. You can use the same service in six different accounts and you don’t pay a monthly fee for each instance you are using ~ you only pay for usage. If you deploy something by accident in one account you can terminate it without paying a flat monthly fee and redeploy it in the correct place. If trying to stay within a budget and cap usage there should be a way to set a cap or max budget rather than a monthly fee licensing for those who need to keep their costs under a certain dollar amount. The pay as you go model is better and people generally dislike the monthly confusing licensing on Azure - especially when it comes to security licenses. The problem I had recently with Claude has to do with the cap the limited what I could get done and how much I could use it. With a pay as you go model you don’t have to cap usage, just make people pay for it if they want to use it more.
