This morning I asked one of the building managers I work with why he's always so happy and smiley even on the most miserable days. I did not expect the response!

This man crossed a continent to escape persecution and execution. His crime?

He's gay. Not openly so, but he doesn't hide or deny it. The Wicked calendar in his room is sort of a giveaway to be honest.

He knows I'm a safe person to talk to, and I think that reassures him. I asked if I could share his story and he said yes.
