Sarasota County School Board Meeting · Mobilize
The Sarasota County School Board makes decisions that directly impact our students, families, educators, and community, and our presence matters.
SEE Alliance shows up at every school board meeting to ensure that student voices, family concerns, and community values are visible, organized, and impossible to ignore.
These meetings are a critical opportunity to:
- Stand up for safe, welcoming, and trusted public schools
- Support students and families, especially those most impacted by harmful policies
- Hold elected officials accountable for decisions that affect our classrooms
You do not need to speak to participate. Simply showing up matters. If you do want to speak, we’ll help you understand the process and prepare.
Whether this is your first meeting or your tenth, you are welcome and needed here.

⏰ NOON — MARCH BEGINS
Participants will walk silently through downtown in a disciplined, peaceful visibility march.
Dress code: All black
A slow heartbeat drum sets the pace.
No chanting.
No shouting.
No confrontation.
Just a clear and powerful public witness.
⸻
THE MARCH
The first lap through downtown represents our SIGNS OF FASCISM march.
Participants walk single file carrying stark black-and-white signs identifying warning signs of authoritarianism appearing in America today.
The second lap represents ICE OUT FOR GOOD — a call for accountability, human rights, and the rule of law.
All signs are provided.
This is a nonviolent public awareness action designed to make people stop, notice, and think about the direction of our country.
⸻
WHY WE SHOW UP
Democracy does not defend itself.
It survives because ordinary people refuse to look away.
Every person who shows up makes this action stronger.
Join us.
Be visible.
Be counted.
Be Good Trouble.

Our Lexington No Kings Event will be held at the Lexington Battle Green or along the sidewalks near the Capt. John Parker statue depending on our permit and the weather. Come prepared for a rally with a couple of speeches or a traditional standout for visibility. We will be providing updates on plans for speakers, music, and a send off for some of those from Lexington joining the No Kings Rally in Boston later on Saturday.
Make your voice heard. At a time of national emergency, we need everyone to step up to resist in any way they can.
The Lexington No Kings Rally is co-sponsored with IndivisibleLAB. Join us.
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Exercise your free speech - while you still have it. Join us in our ongoing protest of the harmful administration's policies every Saturday until the FFOTUS is removed from office.
Kirkland along Central Way between 3rd and 6th Streets
We encourage donations to Hopelink food bank in this time of food insecurity for our community. Please go to https://www.hopelink.org to donate. There will be donation boxes for food and cash donations on Saturdays at the SW corner of 6th Street & Central Way.
**Kirkland Safe Rally Rules:**
- Do not block vehicles, bikes or pedestrians.
- Do not stand in bicycle lanes or the medians.
- Do not block traffic entrances to businesses.
- Do not troll the crosswalks and watch carefully for turning vehicles. Frequent use of crosswalks slows traffic an annoys the people we're trying to reach.
We have had little resistance but:
- Please review this message about the importance of gaining de-escalation skills, and resources to do so: https://bit.ly/IE-De-escalation
- Do not engage with Trumpers – Smile, wave & nod.
- If you feel threatened, yell out “Marilyn Monroe” and those closest will surround you. Contact a yellow vest safety guide. All others should use their cameras to record the action. If serious, call 911.
Let's Have a Fun and Safe event and make our voices heard!

Mobilization Mondays: Chapel Hill (afternoons) · Mobilize
Please join Engaged Defenders for Democracy on Mondays from 4:30-6pm at the corner of Franklin St & Elliott Rd in Chapel Hill for a weekly, peaceful, nonpartisan protest and call to action. Free parking at the Church of Reconciliation, 110 N Elliott Rd.
Across the political spectrum, Americans are disillusioned by leaders who put power over people. We gather to build community, spark hope, and inspire action.
Bring a friend. Bring a sign. Speak up for immigrant rights, free speech, healthcare, social security, the environment, the Constitution and the rule of law, reproductive freedom, job and funding cuts, and the many, many other issues close to our hearts. Bonus points for signs that encourage others to move beyond honking and help turn awareness into action.
We often hand out fliers to stopped cars & pedestrians with information about relevant actions folks can take to support their community and defend democracy. We also have a Signal chat for regular attenders. If you are interested in either of these opportunities, ask around for Wendy.
---------
TIME
Starting Monday March 9th, will switch to 4:30-6 pm - Nov 2. Then will switch back to 3:30-5 pm.
This will be a POSITIVE and nonviolent demonstration. We are here to protect our democracy. We are standing up for what we believe in. We want to inspire people to join us and grow our movement!
Please bring positive signs supporting the movement and resisting what is happening in our country!
Please no mocking signs, no swastikas
We are excited to see you there and stand together for our country!
See you every Monday afternoon engaging drivers in Chapel Hill!
