Apparently there's a zoom call every week about the subject.
I will try and join the next one - the details for this one were sent to me at short notice!

Interestingly one of the organisers said that the AI system that "#Palantir Foundry" that the NHS will be using is based on Apache Spark (https://spark.apache.org/), so in theory non Palantir-based systems could be "plugged in" and used instead in future.

They also mentioned that the NHS does develop their own programs, so it is entirely possible to swap Palantir for other home-grown systems.
An example given was #OpenSAFELY, which was used for Covid-19 research (https://www.england.nhs.uk/2023/11/nhs-expands-use-of-secure-covid-19-research-platform-to-help-find-new-treatments-for-major-killer-conditions/)

It was an interesting meeting, but sadly an hour was not enough to discuss everything that people wanted.

One of the people present are also part of the #No2ID group, and some of the concerns overlap in both groups.

Apache Spark™ - Unified Engine for large-scale data analytics

Apache Spark is a multi-language engine for executing data engineering, data science, and machine learning on single-node machines or clusters.

I beg you, blow #Palantir sky high somehow. Our idiot #government is in bed with them and wants to deploy digital #ID ... not to benefit the majority, and definitely not in our name.

@RussCheshire @futurebird Yes I know.

Last time around lots of people signed up to #No2ID. I don't remember there being a time limit to that commitment, so as far as I know I'm still bound by it.

"There are basic vulnerabilities in the system. It would not take any creative thinking for a state actor or organised crime to target the vulnerabilities in #DigitalID."

ITV News on Instagram: "Multiple senior whistleblowers in the civil service have told ITV News that there are severe security flaws in the technology used for the government’s planned Digital ID. They have raised concerns about the Government's One Login technology which is already used by 13 million people, and say a major flaw was discovered during a security exercise. A government spokesperson told us: “Protecting user data and the integrity of government systems is always our highest priority. “We work continuously to monitor, and defend against, all threats, and work closely with the National Cyber Security Centre which provides advice to the programme on a wider range of cyber security matters. “Our personnel hold the relevant levels of security clearance for their role, and we carry out regular, independent security testing as the public rightly expect, taking swift action whenever possible vulnerabilities are identified. "Our security model involves multiple lines of defence and continues to provide a secure and trusted way for millions of people to access government services." #itvnews #digitalid #technology"

Going round in circles in the National ID scheme - which is what it is.
Here is a video from 2008 at an event I attended.
Ministers ALWAYS talk about Identity Cards they very very rarely talk about a National Identity Register...they talk about CONVENIENCE to the citizen but its really about convenience to the state and your privacy is disposable under those circumstances

"The Lib Dem peer said he had been told by an official that #OneLogin would not pass the required security tests until March 2026. The whistleblower also highlighted an incident from March this year, when a so-called "red team" tasked with simulating a real life cyber attack was reportedly able to gain privileged access to One Login systems."
