Period reminder that most of the Nimbus West Jazz label’s archive is on bandcamp and it rips. My favourites are Billie Harris’s “I Want Some Water” and Adele Sebastian’s “Desert Fairy Princess”. The revival of interest in spiritual jazz may have waned from the height of a couple years ago, but these records, centred around the scene of pianist Horace Tapscott, are worthy of digging anytime.
