If you make these kinds of choices based on "what someone says", you're doing it wrong. No one is suggesting that.

I am (slowly) moving from Debian to Devuan for all the obvious and well-documented problems with systemd. No need to recite that stuff in detail.

Observing that Ubuntu is going all-in on autoslop, and being able to connect the dots and project into the future, moving from Ubuntu to literally anything else (that isn't on the same problematic path) is also pretty darn obvious.

But throwing up a nihilist hypothetical strawman to try to convince others it's not worth trying to fix problems? That is GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY LIFE territory. Plonk.

One of the most intensely #nihilist memories of one of my workplaces is the fact that trashcans were lined with discarded prints, often of scientific articles.

Not much for the fact that discarded paper was used in an useful way (which can be considered good) but that the latest advances in science, most of the time behind a paywall, ended up at the bottom of trashcans. I still think about it and don't know how to process it

So I’m basically a very unserious little devilish imp. I’m too sophisticated, sly, and uppity to be a goblin. I’m very intelligent—but I’m also probably trolling you. I treat everything in life like a game.

You’ll live longer and be a lot happier if you treat nothing as real. Dear God, people are losing their ever-loving marbles taking their metaphysical assumptions about how things ought to be way too seriously instead of embracing the absurdity that is life. I am me and you are you for no reason at all. I’m not metaphysically committed to anything except my husband. Everything else is pretty much a game to me.
