A ★★★½ review of Night of the Zoopocalypse (2024)

This is the kind of delightful gateway horror I’m here for. Not everything that introduces younger audiences to the genre should PG-13 stuff be for teens; kids need their horror too. And Night Of the Zoopocalypse is able to thread that needle between kid-friendly colorful hijinks and knowingly clever horror references. There’s a lot of fun to be had here; the story is basic but not dumbed down, and the characters all pop as they provide their own spin on classic horror trope characters. I could take issue with a bit of the sound design, but otherwise I found myself
