Today I got up early,
And did the bins.
Then I put Mum's laundry in the machine,
And went to meet Sue at work.
I did the bins there too,
And also the bins at my work on the way home.
Folded Mum's laundry for her,
And took it back downstairs.
Headed off to Morecambe,
Driving through four kinds of winter storm.
Had fish and chips by the sea front,
And tea in a cafe.
Headed into Lancaster,
And had tea and cake in another cafe.
Plodded around some shops,
And did a little shopping.
Had a coffee in a cafe,
And read for a while.
Then over to the venue,
Where @drlucyrogers was giving a talk.
It was lovely to see her again,
And to hear about her forthcoming book.
Afterwards we drove home,
Just got in.
I am very tired now,
And still have some chores to do.
I will then go to bed,
Via a shower.

Today we took Mum shopping,
There was a fire alarm at Morrison's.
Mum decided to wait in the car,
While we returned to finish the shopping.
Popped to the GP,
And booked myself an appointment.
I did our laundry,
And go it all away before lunch.
Drove down to Sale Meeting House,
For a leaving party for my manager.
It was a good party,
far too much food and cake.
We gave her a lift home,
as it was then pouring with rain.
Did the caretaking work,
And got home shattered.
Far too much food,
And far too much peopleing.
Spent a bit of time with Mum,
Before not having anything for dinner.
Watched a few videos,
But falling asleep now.

Today we loaded up the car,
And went to the tip.
Then I moved the new trailer axle off the scrap metal pile,
And put it to one side safely.
I also moved the trailer drive system,
And put that with the axle.
I sorted out some more scrap,
And put that on the scrap pile.
Then removed the tyres from four wheels,
So the wheels can also be scrapped.
Had some work emails and calls,
And went to meet the drain clearing chaps.
Two and a half hours later,
They were finally done.
Back home for pizza,
While my aching hands and arms recover.
Watched a couple of videos,
But very tired now.

Today we had eggs for breakfast,
As is tradition.
Then we parked Bugsy and Scout out on the road,
And pushed both trailers out too.
The trailers came back in but in reverse order,
And we started clearing out unwanted 'stuff'.
The driveway became a complete mess,
As we moved stuff about.
Then we parked the car flat trailer,
And hand winched the extending trailer on top.
Stacked all the scrap metal,
And all the stuff for the tip.
Parked Scout and Bugsy back on the drive,
And finished tidying up for lunch.
Sorted out an electric winch,
And fitted that to the car flat trailer.
Ordered a remote control system for it,
And a synthetic rope.
Watched videos for the evening,
While my hand bones ached.
I'd better to to bed,
As I am tired now.

Today we loaded all the tools,
And went to Levenshulme Repair Cafe.
It was really busy,
And I was non stop.
Mostly mentoring a novice,
And lending out tools.
Also providing advice,
And returning some homework.
Didn't do many repairs of my own,
But glue up a chair seat.
Also helped with a gate leg table,
And changed a watch strap.
Got more homework,
A broken chair seat and a spade handle.
Took some bike tools and spares to Sale,
And donated to the Manchester Bike Kitchen.
Then had a coffee at an indie cafe,
And met a very happy previous repair cafe client.
Popped into somecharity shops,
And bought a coat stand for work.
Home and tired,
So watched videos.
Had dinner with Mum,
Sue made a wonderful seafood pie.
Very tired now,
So off to bed.

To meet and assist in a drain clearing.
The chap had to postpone,
So went to meet Sue at work.
We had a coffee at the Community Forest Garden,
It is a lovely place to slow down.
Popped into Lidl for some groceries,
And then did a tip trip.
I went out looking to buy a coat stand,
Couldn't find one anywhere.
Then did caretaking,
And cleaned the Meeting House.
Caught up with some videos,
And watched some TV.
Tired now,
And have a busy day tomorrow.

Today we went to the Community Workshop,
And delivered some big paving slabs to the Community Forest Garden.
Then had a chat with a woman about restoration work,
She had a 1930s oak tray to restore.
Moved a few more paving slabs,
And had a chat about a woodwork job for a community client.
Replaced Bugsy's infotainment screen,
It works fine.
I did a bit more sorting out,
And packed two more tote crates.
Took out more cardboard recycling.
Put Scout's battery on charge,
Scout hasn't been run for a long while.
Did caretaking,
And spent a bit of time with Mum.
Took part in Makers Hour,
And watched a bit of TV.
Tired now,
So off to bed.

We loaded up the car,
And took more stuff to charity shops.
Dropped off a sewing machine to a friend,
And picked up a trowel to weld repair.
I need stainless steel TIG rods,
Stainless steel cable ties make it harder work!
Moved the cars off the drive,
And shifted the big car flat trailer.
Pulled out 13 60kg paving slabs,
And put three in the car for the Community Forest Garden.
Put everything back on the drive,
And went to do caretaking work.
Bugsy's new infotainment screen arrived,
I can install and test tomorrow.
Worked through some emails,
And filed some phone photos.
Tired now,
So off to bed.

And went back to return defrosted ice cream.
Drove into Manchester,
To attend two work meetings.
It was a long day,
But got back to do caretaking work.
Checked on Mum,
Then did laundry.
Watched a few videos,
But tired now.

Today we took a load of scrap wood to the tip,
And a lot of other waste too.
Then got a delivery of 25 more tote crates,
20 are now stashed in the shed.
Broke down a load of new old stock extractor fans,
More stuff for the tip.
Gave Mum a hair cut,
It is a lot shorter now.
Then started packing up my collection of models,
A few will be going to charity shops.
Did caretaking,
And dealt with a whole load of work emails.
Emptied another big cabinet,
That can go to charity too.
Caught up on a few videos,
And watched a bit of TV.
Busy work day tomorrow,
So time for bed.
