Mon serveur #Nextcloud perso a un module de messagerie/appels audio & vidéo intégré, #NextcloudTalk, que je n'ai jamais utilisé. J'ai donc testé la messagerie instantanée hier, via l'appli Android et l'accès web. Et aussi avec des invités.

Ça marche plutôt bien! Avec un compte c'est mieux, on peut recevoir des notifications sur smartphone avec l'appli (mais seulement si installée par le Play Store).

Je garde la possibilité en tête si je vois une ouverture des autres... 🤷

Does anyone have any experience using nextcloud talk for video conferencing? I used it a long time ago and it was rubbish. our charity has a self hosted nextcloud instance on a hetzner CX33 machine. It has 4 vcpu and 8 GB of RAM. Would it work? I want to get my colleagues to stop using Zoom, but if nextcloud talk on that spec is glitchy it will set back my cause.

Gibt es eigentlich schon eine Linux-Distribution, die einen Mini-PC in eine Nextcloud-Talk-Hardware verwandelt? Ich denke da an so was wie Google-Meet-Hardware, nur eben für Nextcloud Talk und gerne auch BBB, Jitsi, OpenTalk usw.

@herzenschein i don't like it but we can either use the app that seems not to need it or use other instances.I used to use also #disroot one but it is now off,so far i only know this as alternative: https://jitsi.private.coffee/
Do you know more #jitsi open instances (with or without register)? Or even cheap instances (for people not for companies)?

An alternative that works for presentations/conference is #BBB. One that I have not tested is #nextcloudtalk(other can access without account and seems👍)

Hat jemand ne Idee, wie ich auf Nextcloud und GrapheneOS Benachrichtigungen für die Nextcloud Talk App einrichten kann, ohne die Google Playservices nutzen zu müssen? Nextcloud Push geht auch nicht weil mein Server kein Redis hat.

Ok, ich habe mein Managed Nextcloud Hosting bei Hosting.de wieder gekündigt...der Grund: das High Performance Backend schafft maximal 4 zusätzliche User in einem Videokonferenz-Raum. Also #NextcloudTalk scheint echt ressourcenintensiv zu sein. Da nutze ich doch lieber weiter #opentalk, da ich dort bei Heinlein für 3€ über Mailbox.org immerhin 25 User versammeln kann. Schade. Ich laste das Hosting.de auf keinen Fall an. Die machen einen super Job und der Support ist top.
