This now appears every time I look at #crime news on the local #Newsquest sites. It does not appear for other articles.

Both original ad and this reminder got past my adblockers, suggesting they are being served directly from Newsquest servers.

One one level it makes sense targeting folk with an interest in criminology, but it also seems a bit worrying as its also going to attract those with more time on their hands who might be way more paranoid and angry about crime than I am (I've lived in far worse places than #Ipswich over the years!), and looking for a way of turning that into power over others (which a #magistrate obviously has)

This is a good article from the #crime and #Courts #reporter of a news organisation in #Essex #England - I was surprised to hear he was working 24/7 as our local #Newsquest sites (and even #ITV #Anglia) seem really slow to respond to anything that doesn't happen during office hours, but maybe there are more resources put into crime reporting the other side of the #Stour as there's simply more crime in Essex!

Again #Newsquest is adding random #crime reports from other areas amongst local ones.

If you are not paying attention or click through or just skimming the headlines, it would be very easy to assume the murder happened in #Clacton / #Harwich #Felixstowe / or even #Southwold or #Aldeburgh (these last two "posh" places still sometimes have problems with youth #violence )

(the incident occured in #Scotland - a very long distance from #Suffolk or #Essex )

It might drive traffic to the news site, but Maybe #Ofcom needs to intervene here and discourage this kind of headline aggregation - all it does is increase fear of #crime in the local area..

#Newsquest / #Archant increasing fear of #crime to drive traffic - 3 of the headlines (including the #police incident and #cocaine dealer being jailed *are* from #Ipswich ), but the boy who was attacked and fatally injured was in #Scotland - there is no real reason to put this in the local news for Ipswich!
