Years ago, I worked with @DavidBFox and Fabrice Florin on a website called #NewsTrust The premise was that users can rate news stories based on the quality of the journalism. There were lots of checks and balances to try and prevent people from gaming the system.

A recent discussion around moderation policies at journa.host brings back many memories of the NewsTrust days. Is it time for FediTrust?

While I'm still currently on the journa.host instance, @adamdavidson's decision not to take action on anti-trans content isn't inspiring confidence and I totally understand why other places are doing instance-level blocking. I still haven't decided whether to go or stay, but I'm writing this to say that the criticisms of journa.host aren't unfounded. #Fediblock
