The projection has the #greens gaining control of no fewer than nine boroughs currently controlled by #labour . These are #brent , #greenwich , #hackney , #hammersmithandfulham , #hounslow , #lambeth , #lewisham , #walthamforest and #wandsworth . #labour retains control of two - #newham and #redbridge . Remaining boroughs are projected to be under no overall control. This would represent the weakest position for #labour in #london since the 1968 to 1971 period.

I have a weird bit of advice for new hams if you want to overcome mic-shyness: find a chill radio club that runs a net and volunteer as a net operator. You may want to join a few nets first to get a feel for it first, but nothing gets you on the air like being on the hook for a specific time every other week or so.

Welp, no worries about the carbon fiber electrically interfering with this 2m/70cm j pole since the POTA33 mast can’t handle the weight of it with only one set of guy wires 😅. But was heard a city away on my weekly net as with my usual mag mount whip.

First time guying a portable mast. Wind is blowing it all over the place. Learned a lot by getting hands on tho.

I’m at one year into #hamradio and today was the most meaningful day by far. I got to help dozens of elementary school students make “contacts” on the local RARS repeater.

Note that these girls, most of a minority racial or ethnic group, are having a lot of fun using communication technology. Throughout the day, the girls were consistently excited, curious, on task, overcoming anxiety to get on the air and just generally AMAZING!

Found this nifty piece of kit at the local Value Village, tucked among piles of old Amazon Echos. There were two but my budget currently only allows for small purchases so I opted for this one. The model is a BF-R3, I know next to nothing about Ham stuff but I'd love to learn.
