A year after forming their union, Newberry Library employees have won their first contract, which includes:
• 15% increase in pay and a ratification bonus
• freeze of employee costs for health care
• doubling of parental leave
• bilingual pay
• continuing education funding
• grievance procedure and quarterly labor-management meetings

Rather taken by this late 18th c. trade card for Susanna Cook, Carpenter, Trunk, and Box-Maker! She even offered "carry-on sizes" and performed funerals. Wonder if it was only for male Londoners?
