Good morning tooters. Bigger drop in temperature this morning waking to just 7c & an ethereal looking back garden surrounded with thick fog, first one of the new season. Still it’s getting to 20c today, so I assume the sun will eventually make an appearance & burn the fog off. It’s so quiet & still outside as well & I look at my little Dogwood, the leaves are nearly all reddish now. I don’t know if they drop or what, so I watch with interest. I’ve even noticed that there are a couple of tiny buds that I think will become flowers down the track. Yes I do tend to examine things very closely sometimes 😁.
Optometrist appointment this morning, I’m getting my eyes tested as I know there’s a difference now. So new glasses for me, not new frames as I can’t afford them as the lenses cost enough as it is. I do have some lovely frames that I had many years ago that I really liked, so I kept them & I feel like a change from the ones I have. I’ve popped the lenses out & will take the empty frames down with me. My eyelashes desperately need dealing with as well & eye drops also need to be purchased.
I don’t seem to be getting much exercise the last few days, I’ll have to remedy that!

A Throwback Thursday to 2022 to my pre-surgery selfie, but the throwback is for my glasses. They're the same frames AND lenses since my college senior year. I wear contacts 99% of the time, but I'll FINALLY get new glasses. So, YEA or NAY on these frames placed on my face on an online site?

S'Halloween! Feels like I've been full-ish tilt all day, ha ha. Well. I woke up super late, which I'm blaming in Vivi for his tendency to sit on me when I try to get out of bed. Then the work things. And then I zoned out doing gaming things and suddenly it's dark. *jazz hands*

But ey, we're ready for the kiddos. Spouse got his smoke machine set up in a fairly watersafe way outside. I've got a few glowsticks and battery powered candles sprinkled up our drive, and there's a real pumpkin and a deflated space hopper we drew a face on. My bowl of candy is prepped, and I'm ready to run. :D

What else... varifocals are going fairly well. The way they're designed is a fairly natural fit for how I look around at things (which I suspect is the case for most people). I hadn't realised the boon having the same frames again would make in adjusting more easily. For the most part, everything looks sharper, which is a relief...

Except for trying to read the side of my Pot Noodle, ha ha. We realised that we hadn't made a dinner plan for tonight, so we three remaining all decided we'd have a Pot Noodle party. Because why not. I'd not had one in years, so I figured I'd see how my stomach got on with it. Fingers crossed? xD

I have a scar healing on my right knee from one of those garage door accidents you always hear about. I just realized it’s shaped like an “F,” and I can't help but wonder—could it be a supernatural sign? After all, the word that flew out of my mouth when my knee hit the door started with that very letter.

Yesterday, I picked up a new pair of glasses—my first with tortoiseshell frames. While reading, I’ve noticed the little flecks of light in the pattern can be a bit distracting. I’m sure I’ll get used to it. I got used to the floaters in my eyes, didn’t I? Funny thing is, I hadn’t even noticed them until an eye doctor pointed them out. Then, for a while, I couldn’t unsee them.
