#St_Petersburg and the region, #Russia's second largest city by population, have been targeted twice since early January by #Ukrainian drones, which hit #Novatek's terminal on the #Baltic_Sea and the #Nevsky_Mazut refinery within the city borders.
Authorities said the drone was shot down in #Kolpino, but it flew another 30 kilometres and landed on allegedly empty tanks of the #Nevsky_Mazut plant. That's a world record for survivability: no drone has ever flown 30 kilometres after being shot down.
The #Nevsky_Mazut refinery produces bunker fuel, in other words, fuel for ships. The suspension of the refinery's work will hit the logistics from #St_Petersburg ports hard.

A drone damaged several tanks of the #Nevsky fuel oil refinery "#Nevsky_Mazut" on #Glukhoozerskoye highway in #Russian #St_Petersburg Emergency services were working at the site, according to #Russian media.
It is reported that around 4:20 a.m. there was an attempt to shoot the drone down 60 km from #St_Petersburg. Reportedly, an #S_400 missile system was engaged. From 03:53 a.m. to 05:11 a.m. the airspace at #Pulkovo airport was closed.
