@ChrisMayLA6 It has been unusual for a former #primeminister of the #uk to try to exert influence of any kind nearly twenty years after leaving office - most of them would have been dead by then . The closest parallel would be #davidlloydgeorge who was still very much around in the early 1940s. He remained an appeaser well after others - including even #nevillechamberlain - had ceased to be. Fortunately his former colleagues and dependents - most notably #winstonchurchill - chose to ignore him.

Perennial scumbag #WinstonChurchill was appointed Prime Minister, following the resignation of #NevilleChamberlain, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1940, the very same day that #NaziGermany launched its invasion of France and the Low Countries. France surrendered about six weeks later.

This lady is from a different era.

She was born before #WWII even started.

She's lived through it all, including the #Anschluss of #Austria into the #German Reich, #NevilleChamberlain's appeasement of #Hitler, and latter's annexation #Czechoslovakia.

She thoroughly deserves rest now.

However, looking at her laid-back life, it seems she will see the beginnings of the next World War as well.
