So, I've been thinking about what I'll say during the first neuroqueer meeting next weekend.

I'm not sure how much I'm going to say about her, but I have to say that I am indebted to Janette Bertrand for my approach.

If you remember, (you probably do not), I wrote an article about her a while back. I'm going to link it below.

When I wrote my article she was 98. I went back to check, expecting that I'd learn about her death.

She's alive and 101 now. One hundred and one!!!! Wow!

Her shows on TV when I was growing up in the 80th and the early 90s in Québec left a lasting impression on me. I don't know how much I'm going to talk about her because... well... nobody knows her around here. (For those who don't know, I'm in the US.)

I invite you to read my article about her:

My baby rattles have arrived... as evidenced in the picture below.

"What is a grown ass individual doing with baby rattles?"

In about nine days I'm going to be the facilitator of the first neuroqueer meeting happening at the MoCo Pride Center. As facilitator, I foresee time when I need to get the attention of the folks at the meeting. I thought about getting a gavel... but I have to say that that's a tad much... even for me. So I settled on rattles.

I have to say that the sounds they make is rather soft... so I might need something with more oomph... but they were cheap... so... we'll see.

(That's to be expected that baby rattles make soft sound. I don't think a baby rattle that would sound like a machine gun or an explosion would be very popular.)

(Boosts appreciated.)

Dear friends,

It brings me joy... maybe even a mixture of queer joy and autistic joy ( :joy: ) to announce the creation of two new events at the MoCo Pride Center in Bethesda, MD.

The first event is a neuroqueer meeting group. This is an event in which we will discuss how our conditions affect our lives. I'm going to be the facilitator of the event.

The second event is a board game event that happens right after the neuroqueer event. I'm also managing this event.

Here is the neuroqueer meeting group event:

Here is the board game event. (Note that there is no way to currently register to this event. The page sends you to Meetup.com and Mobilizon, but that's a mistake. I'm not responsible for publicity. I did tell the folks responsible, but it hasn't been fixed yet. They seem to just have copied the ad for another board game event that I'm also hosting at the center. 🤦 )

Neuroqueer Meetings – Your Autistic Life

(This post is being modified)

I've made two modifications to the Neuroqueer Meetings. These are meetings held face to face in the Hyattsville, MD area.

1. From now on, when the weather permits it, we will hold picnics in a park. When the weather does not permit it, we will hold meetings at a restaurant.

2. I've created a Signal group to inform attendees about what's going on. You need to join the group to get latest.
