Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 880 , Thursday 26/03/2026

Thursday started stupidly early when my brain decided that because it was Lovely & light that it was time to wake up, despite being just after 6am.
I managed to stop the duvet from escaping for another hour but then had to get up.

Breakfast was followed by chores as ever.

We had a pretty relaxed day & went out for lunch again to a place we haven’t been to for a long time. They have done it up since then & its a really nice restaurant now.

Finished our our JP fest with this years instalment - ‘Rebirth’ which was ok on the ‘turn your brain off & enjoy the fun’ meter.

Managed to get hold of a decorator, he’s coming to price up for wallpapering & painting the box room.

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day, it would have been better with a little help with the chores but hey ho.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 879 , Wednesday 25/03/2026

Wednesday started around 07:15. The usual start to the day making breakfast for the two of us & then chores.

The weather was rubbish this morning, cold, windy & snowy!

We drove across to my late MiL’s house, I fitted a new toilet seat, the old one was removed when the house was converted to help my MiL when she got ill.

We also started on the loft, a job & a half!

We worked thru till lunch then called it a day & stopped off for a bite of lunch at a pub we know.

Got home in time for coffee & a piece of birthday cake!

We continued our Jurassic Park fest with Fallen Kingdom & then Dominion.

Final Thoughts.

A busy day but we did get a lot done at my MiLs. There does seem to be endless stuff there though!

My Mum passed on this day in 2019, just before the pandemic, which was a blessing she would not have fared well under full lockdown I suspect.
I miss her every day but most of all on this day.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 878 , Tuesday 24/03/2026

Tuesday started slightly later than Monday but not by much, I was up & downstairs making breakfast before 07:30.

I had hoped that there might be lie ins given Mrs S is on her hollibobs but no such luck!

Did my chores & worked on reorganising my desk, I think I have it cracked!

Lunch, in the shape of a black pudding scotch egg, courtesy of Chatsworth’s farm shop was followed by an expedition out to Costco™, partially for shopping & partially to get a couple of new tyres. Mrs S had booked us in for a 2pm tyre change which essentially gutted the afternoon.

I’ve done something to my back & right leg, both of which were objecting to wandering around the store!

Got back just after 4pm, unloaded & then we watched Jurassic World - the 4th in the JP fest & one of my faves.

We had a naughty takeaway for tea, Mrs S had her usual scampi & chips and I tried something new - Peri peri chicken (the garlic & herb one) with chips. I quite enjoyed it although it was a little spicier than I normally like my chicken. I might try it with rice next time. I do think I prefer it to fried chicken.

Also booked tickets to go see Project Hail Mary at the IMAX next week!

We had a really windy & rainy late afternoon / evening despite there being no storm warning or indeed any weather warning at all.

Final Thoughts.

There were definitely signs that my brain was not overly happy with me while I was in Costco™, mostly a little dizziness & the feeling that I needed to ‘pop’ my ears. Hey ho, I made it home in one piece!

Eight years of wedded bliss! 8️⃣🤵‍♂️👰‍♀ I spent much of my youth withdrawn from the world and generally feeling lost. It was hard to imagine myself ever getting married.

Since meeting my wife fourteen years ago, however, my life has been filled with happiness, love and adventure. She is the kindest person I have ever met. I am grateful for every day that we spend together, and I look forward to all that lies ahead ❤️

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 877 , Monday 23/03/2026

Monday started a lot earlier than I expected, the neighbours are so noisy of a morning!

It’s been Mrs S’s birthday so I made her breakfast & did my chores.

We went to Chatsworth Farm shop cafe for lunch, they do nice food & Mrs S likes the view.

We stopped at the shop itself to acquire some goodies for the rest of the week!

We spent the remained of the day enjoying the 1st 2 movies in our planned Jurassic Park fest with cake & other goodies to key us going!

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day, but it will be a few days before I get chance to recover from todays peopling - indeed there is more to come tomorrow with a planned visit to Costco™.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 876 , Sunday 22/03/2026

Sunday started a lot earlier than it should have, next door are noisy as buggery in the early morning!
I should have worn my ear plugs but my ears have been sore the last couple of days & it just wasn’t an option.

I made us breakfast & then did the chores, including mopping & hoovering the downstairs floors.

Then I, in another burst of ADHD madness have decided to move the raised shelf on my desk to make better use of the available real estate.
Moved my desk draws to give better access too. Upshot is that everything is disconnected again. But it should make life easier once it’s all sorted.

If it had been in the week I would have had chance to finish it but I only had a couple of hours while Mrs S was out & about so there is still so much to do.

We binge watched one of Mrs S’s chows this afternoon & then had some mushroom Tagliatelle thing that Mrs S bought.

Final Thoughts.

All in all a quiet & really quite disappointing day. Hey ho.

I need to find some spoons for tomorrow from somewhere as I will have to be in bubbly mode for Mrs S’s birthday. I still need to wrap her presents & write her card so I won’t be going to bed early tonight.
