Looking at the agenda for a cultural celebration I may go to today because a friend is singing at it. A few years ago I wouldn't have known what a sensory recovery area is and now I'm delighted to read that they have one as part of the setup. With all that's bad or wrong, still signs of improvement in some things and I'm still learning.

My kind of #sunday

Going to call these ones #NeuroFabulous

I've had the plywood pieces for these for over a year now, but getting mica-powder and mixing that with varnish was a thing I had to figure out first. This turned out to be a good way of achieving the rainbow on the wood with an easy to do and relatively smooth colour transition.

My personal version of “be the change you want to see in the world” is “use the words you want to hear in the world.”

Too intense, distracting
Kind of creepy, blunt
Awkward at transacting
To many an affront.

Honest and creative
You see just what you get
Clever, innovative
A unique alphabet.

How do you celebrate (or spend) the holidays this time of the year if celebrated around where you live? I mean in a way thar brings you most joy and happiness and feeling recharged. Maybe share some tips that could work for others to enjoy a #neurofabulous holiday too.

It's only been a week since we finished the #autism assessment process for one of our 9-year old's and learned that there will be an autism diagnosis. I'm still processing lots of feelings about this, so all you online strangers get to hear about it, too. Maybe more than just this one toot, but here's what I got for now:

I am so proud of this kid and where they are going with their life. I am the happiest dad in the world that they chose to be born to us. And so many things that I saw all these years, and no one else seemed to see, make sense to all of us now. Just like my life makes more sense now.

And schools suck.

We need to do better by our neurofabulous kids, all of us.
