Time Perception Mechanisms at Central Nervous System

The five senses have specific ways to receive environmental information and lead to central nervous system. The perception of time is the sum of stimuli associated with cognitive processes and environmental changes. Thus, the perception of time ...

It looks like no AI model knows where the visual cortex (occipital lobe) is located: just ask them to generate an image of a brain implant with wires only in visual cortex (Neuralink Blindsight) and you mostly get nonsense results. #AI does not know #neuroscience (#neuroanatomy)?

It seems reasonable to assume that bigger brains can pack more neurons, so they must be smarter.

But that’s not how evolution works. The brain of a larger animal isn’t just a scaled-up version of a smaller one, it can actually be structured differently. In this article, we explain what that means and why “bigger” doesn’t always mean “more computational power”.

P.S.: Not everything made it into the final version, but I had so much fun reading in-depth about the brain structure of various animals. Just another reminder that nature rules.
