Sometimes I almost miss feudalism. Not the mud, hunger, priests, or teeth falling out. Just the deal: bend the knee, maybe someone keeps the wolves off you. Neofeudalism is surveillance capitalism that watches, nudges, monetizes, and owes nothing back. Serfdom with push alerts. Power no longer needs a crown. It has infrastructure.

For all that the website doesn't work without JavaScript, the Quartz article is still worth reading, if for nothing else than it's mention of Arlie Hochschild's book, "The Managed Heart: Commercialization of Human Feeling". Emotional labor is a hallmark of #neoliberalism #neofeudalism, and it of course impacts women more than men. Hochschild noted all of this all the way back in 1983. As someone who has worked in show business my whole life, I'm no stranger to it.

La unica vía que veo en estos momentos, para minimizar riesgos o males mayores, y estar prevenidos, es mantenerse firme con la privacidad digital de cada persona (ya no sirve decir la excusa de que "no tengo nada que ocultar" y seguir permitiendo que obtengan o incluso roben tus datos), e intentar comprar en el poco comercio pequeño, de barrio y/o de cercanía (o también llamado de km 0) que aún sobrevive.
Y aquí la pregunta del millón: ¿Los "grandes" comerciales e imperios empresaliares han querido tirar abajo el comercio pequeño para que, cuando se pudiera hacer tecnológicamente lo que dice Marc Vidal, nos puedan tener aún más controlados, y poder seguir sacándonos las entreñas para que ellos se mantegan como multimillonarios? Ahí dejo la cuestión. Quién pueda arrojar más luz, que la arroje y nos llegue a todos los que la necesitemos.

Louisiana has advanced one of the cruelest anti-homeless bills in the country. It would force homeless people to choose between jail and involuntary treatment, make them pay for it, and if they can't pay, force them to perform unpaid labor.
