Finally about to watch #NeilBreen's latest "so terrible it's great" film, 2023's "Cade: The Tortured Crossing." It's reminding me of the frustrating, hypocritical way we treat the subject of neurodiversity in our society, which can be summed up as, "Don't ever, ever, ever, EVER make fun of an autistic person! ...Unless they make a terrible movie, in which case you can make as much fun of them as you possibly want."

At the same time it´s totally fascinating und lures you in, because you want to know which strange and insane decision Neil Breen did next in his unique style of (anti-)filmmaking.
Now how to rate?
Maybe the choice between either 1/2 star or 5 stars? Or refuse to rate it at all?
For me "Double Down" is clearly a 1/2 star masterpiece.
2/2
"What happened to me? To us? To me?" But there are two other questions on my mind at the moment: How can you describe a Neil Breen movie? And how do you rate a Neil Breen movie? Nothing you can read about it will ever prepare you for what´s ahead of you, if you never experienced a film by Neil Breen before. Yes, it´s really bad. And goes against anything you think you know about (even bad) movies. At the same time it´s totally fascinating und lures you in, because you want to know which strange and insane decision Neil
My review of "Double Down" (2005) by Neil Breen:

#NeilBreen films are hard to watch alone. They're only tolerable if you have someone to snark them with.
But I have a feeling this film will be fun fun silly billy and more entertaining than a Breen. Except it's 2½ hours...
Edit: it was mostly talking and without subtitles, not really enjoyable. But the acting is great! Definitely Breen-level!
Did I pass out and miss recording this week's episode, or was my mind protecting me from further self-harm, safe in the knowledge that I could send Dave super-grumpy audio clips about the "movies" we had to cover this week?
Maybe a bit of both. I'll be tuning in to hear how the guys mock me, and you can do the same here.
