#OTD 2 January 2020, residents of #Antofagasta #Chile held a fake protest for a stray dog named #ElVaquita in order to trick him to visiting a veterinarian. El Vaquita ("little male cow") is one of several famous street dogs in the country, who frequently join demonstrations and protests, and instinctively side with them during confrontations with the police.

Borré mi anterior cuenta, Perros Vintage, vuelvo acá. Primer post dedicado al gran Negro Matapacos, personaje perruno que se hizo famoso al acompañar a los manifestantes durante las protestas estudiantiles en Chile durante el 2011, aunque siguó acompañando en en los años siguientes. El Negro Matapacos, o simplemente El Negro, tal como lo llamaba su familia humana, fue un perro negro mestizo que siempre andaba con un distintivo pañuelo rojo o azul en su cuello. Su humana que lo cuidaba y daba hogar lo bendecía antes de que saliera a hacer su tarea revolucionaria, especialmente ladrar y querer morder a los carabineros ("pacos" en Chile).

Meet Chile's iconic cop-biting riot dog Negro Matapacos (Black Cop-Killer), who passed away on this day six years ago. The stray dog showed up at student protests for free education in 2011, defying tear gas and water cannons, becoming an unwavering companion in the students' struggle. He would only attack "pacos" (Chilean slang for cops), never students or protesters.
