BerndI can still do almost everything just fine with my Late 2013 27" iMac, thanks to the (at the time) top-of-the-line model, and OpenCore Legacy Patcher, which allows me to use almost-current macOS versions with all security updates.
Even #Reaper with tons of plugins and DaVinci Resolve still work great.
Two points will make me upgrade in the near future, though:
* X-Plane 12 won't run, because it needs a more recent Metal version, which the hardware doesn't support, and
* #NeatVideo denoising takes ages, but it does such a marvellous job for low-light footage from my almost-as-old DSLR.
