I been reading less but I keep up with #NealStephenson for hard sci fi. I like his recent near future stuff like: Fall; or, #DodgeInHell I'd say it has heart. Neal can be a bit dry but great on the #HardSciFi angle and world building. .https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fall;_or,_Dodge_in_Hell
