UK government spurned chances to free Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, say MPs

Report on hostage diplomacy attacks handling of Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anoosheh Ashoori cases and criticises Johnson and Truss

The Guardian
Watching #Nazanin reminds me of Alan Johnson. Everyone was horrified when he was kidnapped but it was just a news story. Only when his kidnappers released his #BBC badge did I feel a colleague lost. Stood in TV Centre every Monday (I think) to stand in solidarity. Didn't think it was anything but a gesture. On his release he said he'd heard about our "gestures" & how they had given him strength. Never think that any protest against oppression, or support of a colleague in trouble, is worthless.
