Suspect assaulted 2 RCMP officers in Nain, say police

More than a decade after Mamu Tshishkutamashutau Innu Education took over the school system in Sheshatshiu and Natuashish, attendance numbers and graduation rates have dramatically increased. For its contribution to the community, the school board and its teachers are being honoured by the Innu Nteimun Music Festival.

In 4 decades before #Innu took over, about 30 #students in two Innu communities in #Labrador finished #HighSchool said Kanani Davis, chief executive of #MamuTshishkutamashutau Innu #Education - the Innu #SchoolBoard . Since then, more than 150 students have #graduated from the schools in #Sheshatshiu & #Natuashish Davis said.

Their two-year #NipissingUniversity course also lets students complete their training in their own communities.
