At long last, approaching the "scenic overlook" within the Spanish Pond portion of the park.
You'll notice the trail changes from dirt and leaves, to soft, white sand.
It was near this point where I encountered the only other humans seen during my exploration of the Spanish Pond area.
A young man and his father were returning down the sandy trail. The son noticed I was taking photos, and told me I should get all the good ones I can on the trails, because the main event was a major let down. His father agreed.
They were visiting from North Carolina, I told them of other Nature Preserves in Jacksonville if they had time and we both went on our ways.
You may notice a slight incline in these "trail" shots. Unusual for Jacksonville, the flattest place on earth! 😅
My legs certainly detected that incline! Especially given the soft "beach sand" I was climbing in!
