so I got a new #NanoVNA a few weeks ago and been measuring all my antenni, not surprised, but disappointed at exactly how many of my "915mhz" are actually 868. including several labeled 915.

@hukl ich hab mit Antennen nur bisschen Erfahrung wegen #meshatasic. Es auszurechnen ist eine gute Möglichkeit. Da diese #nanoVNA aber wirklich nicht mehr viel kosten würde ich dir bevor es an Filter und Verstärker geht, empfehlen solch ein Gerät zu kaufen. Damit kannst du abstimmen das die Antenne wirklich da gut funktioniert wo du es möchtest. In der Funker Welt wird wohl gesagt „die Antenne ist der beste Verstärker“.

Also used it over the past 2 weeks to help do all the math to build an antenna project. I’m not done with it yet, but holy cats has it helped me with hands-on learning about how #MagneticLoop antennas - particularly the coil/capacitor tank circuit - work. Guided me to far better understanding how to use #NanoVNA to tune the tank, optimize the pickup coil, etc.

It’s infinitely more patient with my incessant, frustrated questions than any human instructor’s ever been.

I'd forgotten the coaxial cable. I left the antenna behind, and on the way back I told two tourists "I'd be back in 5 minutes but that I'd left a bit of a mess"... It turned out the woman loved the radio and had done a show on #JetFM.
They were waiting for me when I got back, and they got to see me fine-tune the antenna with the #nanoVNA, start it up, and do a #hamradio pile-up !

My goal is to go back on the 31st there or somewhere else. I don't have any other spots lined up in TOTA https://tota.mashum.org. I don't want to spend too much time in the car right now.
