In honor of #nanovember here’s a thread I’ll add to throughout the month consisting of a personal smattering of Really Good Scenarios that fit well with the month’s theme of the ultra tiny:

-Indestructible Nano: a lot of micro/macro scenarios I prefer tend to be on the ‘lighter’ side. Rampage and destruction are lovely, but once a scene starts straying into explicit gore or violence, it loses me. That’s why I like this particular type of scenario. The idea of being so small and vulnerable, helpless and easily swept up in the tiniest actions of the titanic furs around me, yet somehow the dust-like size also working to allow me to survive the most ridiculous of fates with nary a scratch? That’s fantastic, IMO. Perfect unrealism. The stakes can be just as high if played that way (e.g., unable to get the attention of the friend whose body you’re lost on), but can also just be silly fun when desired (your ass lands on me like a meteor when you plop down on the sofa, but I’m a figurative blubbering mess of a speck rather than being turned into a literal one).

On PTO today, I inadvertently stumbled across my 2005 submission for #nanowrimo that year. For 18 years I have thought of it as less than drivel. It may be that, but I’m halfways-tempted to add another 50,000 words this #Nanovember.
